KPA's, the abbreviation for Key Performance Areas, are important, essential or key functional, operational and life areas that could either positively (i.e. productively) or negatively (i.e. unproductively) impact on our efforts to successfully obtain objectives and achieve our goals.

Identifying and compiling a KPA list isn't a thumb sucking exercise, as in the case of many "I think so..." or "If you say so..." or "I guess so..." or "I read somewhere that..." oriented people, which - in the end - frequently result in the domino effect.

Identifying and compiling a reliable, authentic, valid and truly workable KPA list required much effort, ample time and some money. KPA's must be "researched" (commencing with a SWOT-analysis), verified (against a vision statement and mission statement) to determine a responsible KPA management strategy that would limit, minimize or avoid negative influences (i.e. SWOT analysis threats) and expand, maximize or encourage positive influences (i.e. SWOT-analysis opportunities).

A responsible KPA management strategy will, eventually, allow for manifesting of potential (i.e. SWOT-analysis strengths) and to deal with "Achilles heels" in a healthy and balanced manner (i.e. SWOT-analysis weaknesses).

Key KPAs allows us to responsibly and accountably execute our LDP, CPD, PLP and SDS to establish an authentic level of specialized knowledge.
KPA's allows us to keep our ducks in a row and hit the self-development target each an every time.
