Day Dreams... food for the soul.

In our present highly "developed" scientific and technological driven "westernized-capitalistic-bureaucratic driven" civilization, many people tend to frown negatively on the idea of dreaming. Dreaming is regarded as a total waste of time and a convenient way to escape the harsh truths of the "reality". Granted there is much value to the latter point of view, because dreams - when not in balance with the reality around us - can quite easily develop into a "defense mechanism" (i.e. a mind defense), which we use to either escape, suppress or deny the reality. Dreams as a defense mechanism is not a very good idea... and, YES, it then develops into a waste of valuable time, effort and energy.

Although the above cynical dreaming point of view maybe very "adult-like", realistic, responsible, mature and "civilized"; it also is a very limited, narrow and a restrictive point of view that "throws out the baby with the bathwater". Dreams are a valuable tool or mechanism that we can employ to improve the quality of our everyday lives. Dreams allow us to progress beyond the restrictive horizons of reality. Dreams are a propelling force towards the future that we desire and diligently steer us towards our destiny (i.e. what man thinks is where man goes) and, when actively striving for a dream, it builds ones character, spirit and unleash the full potential of the human spring to achieve things that most people regard as "impossible".

Dreams frequently start as flights of fantasy or wishful thinking - we all have to start somewhere - and needs to be directed and guided. Once we are able to "control" our dreams... dreams become a powerful tool in guiding us to co-create our own futures to our liking and preferences. As a matter of fact, dreams allow us to...
  • refine our destiny.
  • refine out vision of and mission in life.
  • become aware of future alternatives.
  • bring different possibilities to our attention.
  • prepare ourselves (holistically - body, mind and soul) to move forward, to conquer, to materialize and manifest.
  • re-establish hopes, aspirations and expectations.
  • cherish our passions and ambitions in life.
  • re-discover our powers of creativity and originality.
  • uncover opportunities where none seems to exist.
Dreams are an awesome power that can shape and propel our life's - when done in a balanced manner - to exciting new heights.

Dreams transcend Time and Space.

To truly understand the heart and mind of an individual, consider not what s/he has already achieved... but what s/he aspires to achieve!

DANGER! Human dreams are a natural phenomenon and an integral part of our life's (i.e. sameness dimension and human attribute). Therefore... Who or what actually determines your dreams and the eventual manifestation and realization of your dreams in the end?

A TED talk deliver by Bel Pesce, 5 Ways to kill your dreams, provide some very interesting answers to the above question.
